Back to KulenDayz - 2021 edition is a blast

Like in the good old days, our team was delighted to spend some time in Osijek, Croatia, as our favoured weekend IT conference KulenDayz returned to its on-site format earlier in September.

With 528 kilometers travelled, greetings exchanged, workshops done and some food grabbed, the preconference hosted on Friday got us ready for everything the main program offered on the next day. And there was a lot to hear, learn and share.

Our Goran Mrvos, Dolores Koverlica, Damir Muhovic and Marko Glavas spent time in thought-provoking software and tech chats. Topics ranged from advanced application development and cloud technologies to databases, design and project management. Our team shared what it is like to work at Infosit, the crew behind the software that powers some of the leading hospitality systems in the Adriatic.

Goran also spoke at the conference as the president of the National IT Association, operating under the Croatian Chamber of Economy. We booked our Sunday for some more casual meetings in the morning, and a brief tour of the magnificent Osijek, before heading back to Porec.

Compared to other tech gatherings, KulenDayz is somewhat special in style. Hosted in the Osijek Fortress and the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University, it runs outside of the usual conference setting. Participants can create their own topics in open sessions, while parts of the program are held in the chalk & talk format - without a projector or the Internet. More than once, this has opened space for livelier conversations and more direct communication.

Thinking of the youth, the KulenDayz team created a special program for school-age children. KulenDayzKids workshops were built around digital and educational content, aiming to enable children to get to know and test new learning tools and to develop an interest in technology and STEM.
