WTM 2025: Global travel industry on the rise

At this year’s World Travel Market conference in London, technologies that power direct sales and top booking experiences remained topics of strategic interest among hotel companies. Innovations in these technologies are shaping how hotels connect with guests and stay competitive.

According to WTTC’s 2025 economic impact research, released at WTM 2025, global travel industry reached record levels this year:

• International arrivals are set to top 1.5 billion - and surpass the record from 2019.
• Over the next decade, the industry is expected to generate near to 12% of global GDP.
• It is on track to post annual growth of 3.5% over the next ten years, and outperform global economy (expected to grow 2.5% per year over the same period).
