- Artificial intelligence isn’t some distant future - it is already used heavily, and in more places than you probably thought. If your company hasn’t outlined a basic implementation plan or experimented with AI tools, there’s a good chance your competitors have, said Infosit CEO Goran Mrvoš at a recent AI training he held for businesses and organizations. The education was organized by the Croatian Chamber of Commerce.
Although GenAI tools have become widely available, there are still obstacles to adoption. Security and accuracy are among major concerns of businesses and organisations, when it comes to Large Language Models. Still, McKinsey reports that 92% of companies are planning to increase their investment in AI over the next three years.
Gartner predicts that by 2027 more than 50% of employees will use AI-powered tools daily. AI agents are becoming integral, not just in automating repetitive tasks, but also in performing complex operations. Gartner found that less than 1 percent of enterprise software applications used AI agents and digital assistants in 2024; that could rise to 33% by 2028.
- When introducing GenAI to your organisation, the rule number one is to align it with business needs. GenAI can help add value in marketing, sales, finance, human resources, operations, and many other business areas. Like any technology, it should be there to serve business goals and value creation, Goran stressed.
How an organization will implement AI usually depends on three major factors:
Generally, companies can choose from pre-built AI tools, AI agents and custom AI models.
Custom AI models are suited for organizations that cannot solve their needs using generic tools. They use their own, often sensitive data in training such models. Custom models are costly; they require a lot of time and expertise to develop and maintain.
Organizations looking for an easier setup and a quick start can go with off-the-shelf solutions that have AI in the software. They come with a lower level of customization and limited flexibility. They have been trained by the major AI providers of today, and they can be great for solving typical needs such as automating replies to FAQs, analysing sales notes, etc. They are widely available, and probably the most affordable.
Finally, there are GenAI agents that are more flexible than generic AI tools, but not as complex and expensive as fully custom AI models. These AI-powered systems can adapt to your business processes and work on their own, often using a combination of AI technologies. For example, in customer support, an AI agent can read incoming customer emails and understand the problem (language processing), check previous customer orders (data analysis) and send a personalized response (automation).
Companies looking to improve customer experience, automate repetitive tasks or streamline operations often turn to AI agents as a practical solution. However, to get real value from them, they need a successful implementation. This is where reliable tech partners, who can ensure AI is properly implemented into workflows and aligned with business goals, become essential. As a digital solution provider, Infosit supports organizations in integrating AI-powered systems with existing processes, systems, and data. Tech partners are handling the complex part of the job, so that businesses can focus on results and get the most out of the AI implementation.
It is important to set clear goals for what you want to achieve with AI. This could include efficiency boosts, cost reductions, quality improvements etc. It is equally important to assess current processes and technologies, to identify areas that could benefit from AI. This is usually followed by a step-by-step implementation plan.
AI tools you can start using right away, if you already haven’t:
Collecting and preparing data is key to using AI successfully. Poor data will lead to poor results, so make sure you have high-quality and relevant data. Next, train your AI model to solve specific problems in your company. Then connect your AI solution with your existing systems and business processes. This can include software adjustment, employee training, and workflow updates. Once the AI setup is up and running, it is important to keep monitoring and adjusting it when needed, to get the best results.
Use enterprise grade systems that protect your data. Combine AI agents with workflow tools.
Drawing from his own experience, Mrvoš offered practical advice: - Early on, we started with AI assistants built in office tools. Then, we expanded to other systems that already use or can be integrated with AI. Adoption is faster if teams share what they learn along the way, and if there are conversations about what works and what doesn’t. AI champions can also help drive adoption and change.
AI technology is developing very fast; faster than people and businesses can adapt. It is safe to assume that early adopters have an opportunity to build competitive advantage through different AI implementations.
